What is WeChat?
Before launching your WeChat Official Account, let us get to know it first. Introduced in 2011, WeChat by Beijing-based Tencent initially started as an instant messaging app. But over the years, its popularity grew exponentially.
It was only a matter of time when the app reached 1.2 billion monthly active users. As a result, it became one of the largest social media platforms in the world, belonging in the same ranks together with Facebook, YouTube, WhatsApp, and Messenger.
Aside from providing instant messaging and call services, WeChat has expanded and evolved as a super-app. It’s capable of rendering multiple services without users exiting the platform.
And did you know you can actually promote your products, and open up your own online store on WeChat? That’s right. The app now supports Ecommerce, thanks to its own payment system, WePay.
