Why Your Shopify Store Needs Google Pay?

Why Your Shopify Store Needs Google Pay?

In 2020, Google announced a redeveloped digital wallet and payment system – Google Pay. It became a force to be reckoned with. Experts are now even calling it ‘disruptive’, and there are no signs of it slowing down soon.

While it provides consumers with another digital wallet to store cash and pay for purchases, businesses are integrating Google Pay to their shops both for the convenience of buyers and their operations.

Shopify Now Has Google Pay

Leading this trend is no other than Shopify, becoming the first e-commerce platform to activate Google’s very own digital payment system on all its stores.

If your Shopify shop does not have Google Pay yet, then it is time to set it up for your business. And below are the reasons why Shopify store owners should also consider this opportunity.

Reaching Out To Millions of Customers

Activating Google Pay for your e-commerce venture meant tapping into millions of people using various Google services, including Google Shop.

Improve Conversion

Shopify merchants can now provide faster checkout processes to their shoppers, thanks to Google Pay. Arming your Shopify store with Google Pay is easy – all you have to do is go to Store Settings, and switch on the feature as a payment option.

Shopify’s partnership with Google was designed primarily to improve conversion rates at the checkout stage by rolling out a frictionless checkout process through Google Pay. In turn, it will help eliminate obstacles that kept a buyer from clicking the Place Order or Buy button.

Convenience

Digital 38 | Shopify Advantages

Like most digital wallets, Google Pay provides a sense of security for customers as it will no longer require buyers to further submit sensitive credit card information once they go to your shop’s checkout page.

In addition, Shopify reported that approximately 70% of store traffic are from mobile users. Google Pay’s mobile-first design offers an opportunity for Shopify businesses to maximise traffic generated from mobile phones, increasing the potential of an improvement in conversions.

Why SEO and SEM Are Important for Your E-commerce?

Tracking-E-Commerce-Results-Lazada-Marketing-Agency-1024x683

Integrating search marketing in your e-commerce marketing activities is essential to help increase your store visibility in Google Search. When search engine optimisation (SEO) & search engine marketing (SEM) are done right, you will see an increase in quality traffic, which will bring more conversions and repeat purchases.

But search optimization can be a difficult strategy to manage if you don’t know how to compare SEM vs. SEO. Read along as we dig deeper on the similarities and differences of SEM and SEO, and how to effectively use them for your growth.

What Are SEO & SEM Strategies?

Google’s search results are divided into two main categories, which are the paid search results and the organic search results. SEO is where you focus on ranking in the organic results. SEM is when you tap into both SEO and pay-per-click (PPC) in order to get quality traffic from search engines.

SEO helps businesses promote increase their brand presence visibility in Google Search by continually optimising your e-commerce site to rank higher. It involves optimising meta titles and descriptions, writing unique product descriptions and more to drive organic website traffic.

On the other hand, SEM is a primary driver of business growth and customer acquisition for your ecommerce stores. SEM functions similarly to SEO, it helps brands get greater visibility in the search result in text format but it displays your e-commerce website above organic results

Another most striking differences it has with SEO is that it does not come for free. This is also why it’s sometimes referred to as ‘Paid Search’.

SEO vs. SEM: Which is Better for Your E-commerce?

SEM and SEO strategies can be utilised simultaneously, depending on your e-commerce goals at different stages. SEM campaigns can help you start yielding results instantly, while SEO can take months.

SEM are advisable to businesses that have just launched their e-commerce presence since SEO sometimes take time. SEM is an important method of targeting potential buyer and drive valuable clicks to a website. But as time progresses, SEO can greatly help you in reducing the cost of driving website traffic.

Regardless of what product you’re selling, it’s hard for you to win over your competitors if your e-commerce website is not appearing in the search results. If you want to drive potential buyers for your e-commerce website, that’s what we can help.

How Does It Work

Like most ecommerce sites doing cross-border services, Shopee’s SIP will be responsible for facilitating the purchase between the seller and international buyers.

Sellers will be informed of any transaction made abroad. Once confirmed, sellers will be sending the package to Shopee’s Warehouse in Malaysia. From there, they would be the one to process the remaining stages of the order, ultimately sending the delivery to the buyer’s location.

Benefits of Shopee International Platform

Presently, only selected businesses are qualified to have SIP. Nevertheless, businesses with SIP are guaranteed that localised selling experience will be sustained, which meant that after successfully registering to the program, no further steps are needed just so they can penetrate a market abroad.

Aside from reaching out to more customers and potentially diversifying the business, Shopee’s SIP also provides logistics, customer service, and payment solutions at no additional charges to the sellers.

Laptop with shopping cart Singapore e-commerce platform

E-commerce has forever changed the marketing game in Singapore. The advent of digital technology and online marketing has allowed small businesses to run their company more proficiently and profitably. If you really want to expand your business, e-commerce is the way to go. But before you start, you need to first choose which Singapore e-commerce platform to sell your products online.

Each Singapore e-commerce platform comes with its own set of costs, commission rates and delivery options, therefore it’s important to weigh your choices carefully. Here are three e-commerce marketplaces to consider.

Singapore E-commerce Platforms

Lazada Singapore

Lazada Singapore homepage Singapore e-commerce platform

  • Cost of Setting Up Shop: Individual sellers need not pay a fee to set up an account
  • Commission Fee Structure: There is no commission charged for Lazada Marketplace sellers, whereas LazMall sellers pay between 3% to 5% in commissions, depending on category. To facilitate online credit card payment processing, there is a 2% payment gateway fee for Lazada Marketplace and LazMall sellers.
  • Delivery Options: Lazada Singapore exclusively uses SingPost or Ninja Van for the delivery of products to customers. When choosing Fulfillment by Lazada, there are additional fees ranging from $1.60 to $9.00 per cubic metre per item to cover manpower, storage and packaging costs.

Qoo10 Singapore

Qoo10 Singapore homepage

  • Cost of Setting Up Shop: There is a regular upfront fee of $100 to register for an account in Qoo10. While deciding to register for a Qstore would require a payment fee of $500. These initial setup fees will be for the intention of boosting posts and advertisements. Choosing the “Premium List” advertisement method will elevate the display rank of your items higher in the search result list along with red premium icons. This will allow your products to better stand out and catch customers’ attention in the Qoo10 website.
  • Commission Fee Structure: Their commission fee is 12% which is somewhat higher compared to the other Singapore e-commerce platforms. Therefore, your business will have to charge higher prices than usual to guarantee that your profit margins remain the same.
  • Delivery Options: Qoo10 uses Qxpress which offers 2 types of delivery services – Standard delivery and Quick delivery. Standard delivery doesn’t offer same day order and delivery. Instead, you have to select a pickup date from the following day onwards upon ordering. Standard delivery is on Mondays to Saturdays from 10am to 7pm. On the other hand, Quick delivery gives you the option of choosing a pickup time slot.

Shopee Singapore‍

Shopee Singapore homepage

  • Cost of Setting Up Shop: Signing up as an Individual Seller in Shopee is free. However, to register as a Shopee Mall seller, you have to be an already recognized brand or high-ranking seller.
  • Commission Fee Structure: Shopee does not charge any commission to sellers on the platform. Notwithstanding, since August 2018, Shopee started charging 1% transaction fees for processing and payment for every successful order.
  • Delivery Options: Shopee sellers rely on Speedpost economy and Ninja Van for logistics and delivery services. It is important to indicate the weight and dimensions of the products before choosing an option to ship them out.

Whether you’re starting out a new online business, or have been in the game for a while, these Singapore e-commerce platforms can help with your campaign. You can launch quickly, reach built-in audiences immediately and take advantage of established programs that make it easy to market, sell and fulfill within each marketplace. Why SEM is Important for Your E-commerce Business

image_6483441(3)

What is Search Engine Marketing?

Search Engine Marketing, more commonly known as SEM, is a form of internet marketing strategy that involves the promotion of websites in Search Engine Results Pages (SERPs).

Originally, Search Engine Marketing was once was used as an umbrella term to include all online marketing strategies such as SEO (search engine optimization) and paid listings. But over time, the industry has adopted the term to refer solely to paid search advertising or Pay-Per-Click.

SEM now refers to the act of using paid strategies to increase search visibility. Brands pay for ads to appear as search results on search engine results pages.

google search engine with SEM and SEO

Why is SEM important for your e-commerce business?

Several factors need to be considered for your e-commerce business to make it successful and SEM is one major contributing aspect.

When it comes to e-commerce, every marketing strategy has its own pros and cons, and so does SEM. However, this type of marketing is remarkably valuable and knowing the correct ways of using it, could be advantageous to your business.

Search Engine Marketing is one of the most efficient ways to develop your e-commerce business in an increasingly competitive marketplace. With millions of businesses out there all competing for the top rank, it’s even more significant to advertise online, and search engine marketing is the most effective way to promote your products and grow your business.

Here are the benefits of search engine marketing

Research shows that 81 per cent of people search online for a product or service.

Search engine marketing’s best strength is that it gives advertisers the chance to put their ads in front of motivated customers who are ready to buy at the exact moment they’re ready to make a purchase. This means that you’re getting your content and ads in front of a highly engaged target audience, who are enthusiastically looking for products and services like yours – all for a low cost and without being imposing on the potential customer.

Because search engine marketing puts you on the front page, it can be a great investment for your e-commerce business. Outranking every organic result your potential customers see gives you massive advantage, even if you do have to pay for every click.

Organic SEO is great for long-term growth, while paid SEM is ideal for business that wants results fast.

When a customer visits your online shop, they want to be able to find what they want easily. Check that your site structure is simple so that it would be easier for search engines to access your site and rank your products. Also, be sure that every page of your site is only 3 clicks away from your home page as much as possible.

Use descriptive file names for your images

Using descriptive names for your images will improve your search engine rankings and website traffic since user-friendly image filenames are more likely to be recommended by Google.

Use descriptive link text for internal links

Replace generic phrases like “click here” or “learn more” with specific descriptions so users have a clear idea of the page that will load when following the link. Descriptive link texts also help search engines understand your content.

Increase links from other websites to your store

The more backlinks a page has the more organic traffic it gets from Google.

Now that you know the basics of Shopify SEO, you can improve your site to rank higher in search rankings. If you need additional help with improving your site, contact us to get started.

Amazon Singapore, or Amazon.sg as it is more widely known, is one of the most popular e-commerce platforms on the market.

Getting your business started on this e-commerce marketplace may seem like a daunting and overwhelming job. However, setting up your Amazon page is quite straightforward based on these 5 easy steps.

2. Add Products to Sell on Your Amazon Page

To sell a product on Amazon, you must first create a product listing. By using the Add a Product tool, you can add SKUs to your catalogue one by one. With a Professional Seller subscription , you also have the option of listing your products in bulk or using a third-party inventory management platform.

3. Sell Your Products

When you’re done with your product listing, you can start selling them on your Amazon Page.

4. Ship Orders

Amazon notifies you when a customer places an order.  For shipping, you can either use Fulfillment by Amazon (FBA) and let Amazon handle the shipping – or you can simply handle the shipping yourself.

5. Get Paid

After deducting the selling fees, Amazon deposits payment into the bank account you’ve registered at regular intervals and notifies you when your payment has been sent.
